Couple and family therapy

Sometimes a certain problem may concern more than one person, which are related to each other. So, it happens that couples or entire families address a psychologist to resolve matters which affect all members. Common problems are conflicts among partners or among members of a family, communication problems, concerns about a chronically ill person in the family etc.

During these meetings, both partners or all members of a family are present. The ultimate target is the restoration of members’ affective bonds and the reinstatement of couple or family balance. Sometimes couple or family therapy may be combined with individual therapy. However, during individual therapy the psychologist works on matters other than the ones being resolved during couple or family therapy. These sessions last one hour and thirty minutes.
